Archaeological Museum of Thira

The Archaeological Museum of Thira is located in Fira and houses collections of sculptures and inscriptions from the Archaic to the Roman period as well as pottery and clay figurines from the Geometric to the Hellenistic period. The most important exhibits are the Thirean amphora with geometric decoration (early 7th century BC), the great volcanic stone (trachyte) weighing 480 kg and many findings from the excavations in the cemetery of ancient Thira, such as amphorae, ceramics and kouros statues.
