Argyros Mansion

The mansion was built in 1888 in Messaria. It belonged to the local landowner and wine merchant George Emm. Argyros and it is one of the most remarkable monuments in Santorini as it combines local architecture with eclectic elements. In the interior you can admire the exquisite ceiling paintings and the traditional furniture.

The building was seriously damaged during the earthquake of 1956 and was fully restored by the Ministry of Culture. In 1985 it was described as "work of art" while in 1997 it was awarded the Europa Nostra prize as a memorial of conservation of the island’s cultural heritage.

The mansion is open for visits from May to October.
